The Vertical Sprawl - Adaptive Reuse, Commerical

Academic Work - Advanced Studio

This Midtown project reimagines the existing 150 W 35 building into a commercial hub that repositions it back into the office market as a Class A sector, while also featuring various public spaces and cultural amenities to encourage pedestrians to walk in and through the building vertically through strategically designed routes of circulation.

To combat Sick Building Syndrome, this building pushes the boundaries of ecological awareness and is a test to how existing vacant office buildings in the city can adapt to the ever changing needs of New Yorkers, such as the desire of flex spaces and third spaces.
