GowanusPOINT - Mixed Use, Comm + Multi-Family

Academic Work - Advanced Studio

This project proposes housing strategies that reconnects new residential developments to the Gowanus Canal while addressing environmental and social challenges within the neighborhood. Through the courtyard massing and a commercial corridor that links the street to the waterfront, the project introduces affordable housing, public open space, and cultural programming that strengthen community activity. The proposal responds to issues of flood resilience, limited tree canopy, and fragmented access to open space by integrating ecological infrastructure and shared urban spaces throughout the site.
